My clothes fit me better? Besides being a really lame answer, I don&#8217;t think it even answered the question.<\/p>\n<p>When I thought about it later, I realized that while I am no style maven, by dressing with less, I have developed a personal style. My clothes are much simpler than they used to be with a softer color palette. I do have a few pieces (like my purple heels) that pop, but for the most part I am wearing grays and blues.<\/p>\n<p>While I am still trying to figure out what my personal style is, I know what it is not.<\/p>\n<h3>Personal style is not about&#8230;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>labels and logos<\/li>\n<li>covering up<\/li>\n<li>being disguised<\/li>\n<li>conforming<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I used to wear clothes that reflected the person I thought I was supposed to be, or the person I thought people wanted to see. Now, I dress like me.<\/p>\n<h3>My style is&#8230;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>simple<\/li>\n<li>eclectic<\/li>\n<li>artsy<\/li>\n<li>tailored<\/li>\n<li>fun<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So maybe all of those things don&#8217;t get together, but that is who I am, and it&#8217;s about time I start being me. I never would have thought I could be so expressive with so few items. I don&#8217;t need a big necklace or purse with L&#8217;s and V&#8217;s all over it to feel noticed and when I did, I was sending the wrong message.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t want you to have to get past my clothing to see me and I certainly don&#8217;t want it to be a barrier for getting to know me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had the great pleasure of meeting and talking with a wonderful filmmaker and new blogger, Geneva of Rose Taffy.
