I didn&#8217;t want to develop a personal style (I thought that was a lost cause).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My motives had very little to do with clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-i-just-wanted-some-peace\">I just wanted some peace.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I wanted a break from the excess.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I wanted relief from running late in the morning after trying on several outfits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I wanted to feel good in my clothes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I wanted to stop obsessing over what I was going to wear to work, to dinner, to an event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I wanted to stop feeling like I didn&#8217;t have\u00a0enough &#8230; like I wasn&#8217;t enough.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The average woman owns $550&nbsp;in&nbsp;clothing that has never been worn.&nbsp;We wear 20% of our clothing 80% of the time,&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>100% of our wardrobe gets 100% of our attention, emotion, space, and time.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"1200\" src=\"https:\/\/bemorewithless.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/SIMPLIFY_WARDROBE.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-121148\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bemorewithless.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/SIMPLIFY_WARDROBE.jpg 600w, https:\/\/bemorewithless.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/SIMPLIFY_WARDROBE-150x300.jpg 150w, https:\/\/bemorewithless.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/SIMPLIFY_WARDROBE-512x1024.jpg 512w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-don-t-you-want-some-peace\">Don&#8217;t you want some peace?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizing&nbsp;your closet year after year, or season after season is just a band-aid for a much larger problem. We have too much. We have way more than we need and have been led to believe that we still don&#8217;t have enough. We don&#8217;t have the right shoes, a trendy&nbsp;coat for the season, the perfect little black dress, or the latest and greatest handbag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between constantly comparing, attractive advertising campaigns, and ridiculously low fast fashion prices, we just add, and add, and add. And it&#8217;s never enough until you remember this: You&#8217;ll never find something to wear that makes you feel beautiful, smart or loved until you believe you already are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wanted to simplify my wardrobe for ONE compelling reason. I wanted some peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I got so much more than that and because of that, continue (more than 11 years later) to dress with 33 items or less every 3 months.
